Alumni and friends of the SLLC established The Green Program in 2018 with the vision of supporting student-led projects advancing social justice and environmental sustainability and developing the west campus area known as the Sustainable Living and Learning Communities (SLLC) that includes the Student Farm, the Domes, Community Gardens, Project Compost, the Feminist Research Institute, D-Lab and more.
The Green Program began with two Green Fellowships per year and has grown to include additional funding for mentorship, student leadership, and student-led projects. Green Fellowship awards are made on a competitive basis for interdisciplinary projects that relate to the SLLC programs and infrastructure and the community education and engagement aspect of UC Davis’s Land Grant mission. You can learn more about the Green Fellowships here and you can learn more about other aspects of the Green Program here.
