Department Summary:

The SLLC is a group of programs in the Orchard Park neighborhood (West Campus) that work towards environmental and social sustainability through experiential learning and student leadership. Member programs of the SLLC include the Student Farm, ASUCD Campus Center for the Environment (incl. Project Compost + Community Gardens), Feminist Research Institute, DLab, and the Domes & Tri Co-op living communities. This position is designed for an engaged student to help lead SLLC communities by helping to coordinate and lead community meetings, and assist in the coordination, publicity and communication amongst projects and member programs of the SLLC. Position Summary:

Assist the collaborative community of the SLLC (aka ‘Collab’) in coordinating all aspects of communication and meeting planning. This individual will attend the majority of SLLC meetings and events of the SLLC, and serve as point of contact for new participants as well as various community members. This person will stay current on the weekly activities of the group and help direct day-to-day work of the community towards long-term goals. 

Work tasks include:
a. Creating agendas, taking meeting notes, and sharing materials for the Collab and ongoing projects of the SLLC
b. Communicating with participants about scheduling and reserving rooms for SLLC meetings when necessary
c. Managing shared online documents and contact information for SLLC participants and interested parties via the SLLC listserv.
d. Assist with support for UC Davis College Corps Fellows in the SLLC - including working on weekends with CC Fellows in the Back40 Native Hedgerow and accessibility path network in the SLLC.
